Do you have plans to expand your horizons this year?  Maybe meet some new people, start some new hobbies, or practice better health?  Check out the following programs and plan to join us!!

Baby Brigade - Looking to meet other young parents who are home with their little ones?  Want to grab some exercise with another parent pushing a stroller?  Trinity UMC wants to help you make these connections and build bonds between our young families in Spartanburg. Call Patti Hall (585-4884, ext. 14) or email her for all the details!

Beginner Sewing Classes  -  We have offered Beginning Sewing Classes many times over the past years and are always interested in starting a new one. Call 585-4884, ext. 14 and leave your contact information to be put on the list for our next class.  Class size is limited to 10. Our next class will start in January 2020.

Sewing Community -  If you have some sewing skills and want to be surrounded by fellow enthusiasts, come join us! We will meet on Sunday afternoons, from 3:30-5:30 PM.  Bring your own machine, supplies, and project.

Knitting - A knitting group is now meeting on Tuesdays from 1:00 - 4:00 PM in the library.  Everyone, regardless of skill level, is welcome to attend.  This is open knitting (bring your own project) or come if you want to learn how to knit.  Another group meets once a month on Thursdays to knit prayer shawls.

Walk in the Gym - Our Christian Life Center gym is open for walking Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM until 4:30 PM. This is a great location to walk safely without regard to weather conditions (hot or cold).  Ask a friend to join you!  (If coming in the late afternoon or on a school holiday or during the summer, please be aware that our Children's Center may be using the gym.  Call ahead to be sure the gym is available).

Yoga  - Our Yoga classes are held on Monday nights beginning at 5:45 PM - 6:45 PM.  Taught by Joy Jakubchak, this "joyful yoga" is very relaxing and perfect for any level student, including beginners.  Cost is $7.00 per class.  Bring your yoga mat and a beach towel.  Contact Patti Hall (585-4884, ext. 14) for more information.

Book Exchange - a bookshelf has been set up in the hallway outside of the sanctuary (between 4th and 3rd floors) where you can Take a Book, Leave a Book.  We encourage everyone to check out the selections!

September 2019

There will be NO yoga on Monday, September 2. Enjoy your Labor Day!

The Autumn Adventures trip to Epworth By The Sea trip planned for September 23-26 has been CANCELLED due to a small number who were able to attend.

We did have some interest, however, so we are going to plan to go to the Springtime by the Sea Adventure set for May 18-21, 2020. This adventure will include tours of historical sights, learning about different cultures, and the people of Jekyll Island, Jacksonville, FL, Amelia Island, FL, and St. Simons Island, GA. If you want to be included on this trip, call Patti Hall today to be added to the list and receive more information.

Our talented Lori Lee is starring in another Tryon Little Theater production called The Book Club so let’s plan to go see her on Sunday, September 29th at the 3:00 PM show. Here is a description of the play:

Loads of laughter and literature collide in this smart hit comedy about books and the people who love them. Ana is a Type A personality who lives in a letter-perfect world with an adoring husband, the perfect job, and her greatest passion: Book Club. But when her cherished group becomes the focus of a documentary film, their intimate discussions about life and literature take a turn for the hilarious in front of the inescapable camera lens. Add a provocative new member along with some surprising new book titles, and these six friends are bound for pandemonium. Sprinkled with fun references to documentaries and novels galore...

Tickets are $12.00 - $20.00. Depending on how many sign up, there may be a group discount. Please let me know if you are interested no later than Monday, September 16.
