Ricky was appointed as pastor of Trinity in June 2024, marking the beginning of his 20th year in ministry. His previous appointments include pastoring various congregations throughout South Carolina in Bishopville, Pamplico, Florence, Beaufort, and Pendleton. He has also served as a campus minister at Francis Marion University in Florence, SC and Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. Although he was born in Pennsylvania, Ricky primarily grew up in Florence, SC.
Pursuing his lifelong dream of becoming a cartoonist, Ricky attended the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, GA. During his time there, he assumed a leadership role in a United Methodist campus ministry and eventually felt called to become a pastor. Ricky graduated from SCAD with a BFA in Sequential Art (drawing cartoons and comic books), then obtained his Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Duke Divinity School. He began his first appointment as a pastor in 2005 and was ordained as a Full Elder in the South Carolina Conference in 2009.
Ricky was married to his wife, Shawn, in 2003. Along with their 2 children, they enjoy hiking, watching movies, and discovering new restaurants. Ricky's favorite activities include drawing, playing video games and board games, building LEGOs (alone or with his kids), and collecting toys that spark his creativity or remind him of his childhood. He loves peanut butter, gingersnaps, popcorn, and superheroes. Ricky also loves to laugh and hopes to never grow up too much.

I have been a life long member at Trinity United Methodist Church and have been employed here since 2015. My educational background is in Education but I have always enjoyed serving in all areas of the church. After the birth of my second daughter I was called to the ministry. It happened to be at the same time Trinity was looking for a new coordinator for the children's program. I started working with the children's program and now cannot imagine my life doing anything else.
Kathryn has been the office administrator at Trinity since 2015. She and her husband, Chad, live in Spartanburg and have two grown children and one very exceptional cat. Kathryn enjoys gardening, reading, crafting, and most of all, cooking for her family and friends.
Claire Ollinger has served as Trinity’s Financial Secretary since 2017. She grew up as a member of Trinity and graduated from Wofford College with a degree in accounting in 1998. Upon graduation, she began her career as a CPA in public accounting in Raleigh, NC. Several years later, she returned home to continue her public accounting career at Elliott Davis in Greenville, SC.
In 2003, she transitioned to part-time accounting work to raise her family. She has been married to her husband, Chris, since 1998 and they have two sons. Outside of work, she enjoys volunteering with her son’s activities, traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Samantha Wofford started her journey with Trinity Children’s Center in 2006 as their baby room teacher. She had just graduated with a BA in Psychology from Converse College and was trying to figure out what her next steps should be. After a few years of caring for infants she moved over to working primarily with the elementary children. During those pivotal years she realized working with children can be challenging at times, but so very rewarding. Plus, she was putting her degree to good use! Moving on to become Assistant Director, and now Director, Samantha feels she has come full circle. She strives to maintain the deep sense of community that Trinity Children’s Center has built over the years.
