Scout Master: Lisa Shingler
ABOUT: BSA Scout Troop 22G is a girl troop located at Trinity United Methodist Church, 626 Norwood St., Spartanburg, S.C., 29302. Organized in 2023 for girls ages 11 to 17, Troop 22G continues the long tradition of scouting at Trinity UMC and in the Palmetto Council in Upper South Carolina. Troop 22G's younger partner is Cub Scout Pack 22 for boys and girls ages 7 to 10.
SCOUTMASTERS: The Scoutmaster for Troop 22G is Lisa Shingler who has been involved with scouting since she was a Girl Ranger in the 1970s, where she was one of the first girls in Exploring to complete a Philmont trek. Troop 22G's Committee Chair is Dan Atkinson, who has three decades experience in Scouting and who currently serves as Palmetto Council President. Troop 22G has 3 Assistant Scoutmasters, and 5 additional volunteers serving as adult leaders. All adult leaders are certified in Youth Protection Training are position trained. These leaders monitor all activities to ensure safety and healthy interaction in accordance with traditional moral values; however, the girls are responsible for leadership of the Troop, per Scouting's Aims and Methods.
MISSION: The Mission of Troop 22G is to prepare girls, ages 11 to 17, to make good moral and ethical choices in life by instilling in them traditional values reflected in the Scout Oath and Law to become effective leaders in the Church and Community.
